Inspirational Author - Pamela Tracy

Pamela Tracy
Pamela Tracy here, and I’m thinking “What a cool idea! Celebrating Inspirational authors during the month of July.”

I like to celebrate :)

What I’m celebrating first is the release of Arizona Homecoming from Love Inspired Romance, a Harlequin novel.

As a matter of fact, I’ve already received three fan emails.  One let me know about a terrible misspelling.  ARG.  I’m mad at myself.  (did you see the misspelling?)  In Homecoming, I actually wrote evacuative cooler instead of evaporative cooler.

It’s the third in the series, and I really enjoyed writing it.  What I liked best about The Rancher’s Daughters - as this mini series was called - is the Native American flavor as well as the southwestern slant.  In these books, besides the romance - you gotta have the romance - you’ll get to explore the Superstition mountains, pan for gold, discover details about Kachina dolls and looms.  And, then, of course, there’s the romance.

By the way, if you’ve ever thought to yourself “I really need to read this Pamela Tracy person...,” the book is half price right now through July 15th on the Harlequin site.  Here’s the coupon code:  JULRD10

The first in the series was Finally a Hero. I can celebrate because today, yes, just three minutes ago, I went to Amazon and found my last’s years book released to a different country and with a whole different cover.  That’s a surprise.

The second in series is Second Chance Hearts.  I can celebrate it because I loved doing the research for it.  I drove, taking my ten-year-old son and one of his friends, to Apache Junction, Arizona (which is the town I set the books in, although I renamed it Apache Creek) and we visited a mining store.  The guy at the desk wasn’t too impressed with my romance novelist status.  I didn’t get to hear “You’re Pamela Tracy.  The Pamela Tracy.”  Not like “You’re Joan Wilder.  The Joan Wilder.”  Romancing the Stone fans will get the comparison.  If you haven’t seen Romancing the Stone, it’s worth every moment.

Thank you Romancing the Genres for having me as a guest today.  Totally enjoying it.  And my last words are “Inspirational Romance Rocks!”

Pamela Tracy is a USA Today award-winning author who lives with her husband (He claims to be the inspiration for most of her heroes) and son (He claims to be the interference for most of her writing time.) She was raised in Omaha, Nebraska, and started writing at a very young age (a series of romances, all with David Cassidy as the hero. Sometimes Bobby Sherman would interfere). First published in 1999, she has since published more than thirty books, for four different publishers, and has sold more than a million copies.  Her 2007 suspense Pursuit of Justice was a Rita finalist.  Her 2009 suspense Broken Lullaby won the American Christian Fiction Writers' Book of the year award.

You're welcome. It's amazing how I found out about the discount. One of my friends forwarded me a Harlequin newsletter that my book was featured in. I had no idea LOL

It's only a matter of time before you head back to Apache Creek and hear "You're Pamela Tracy. The Pamela Tracy." I'm sure of it. Thanks, Pamela for sharing your journey with us at RTG.

Diana,
I'd been there many times. I have friends who live at the bottom of the mountain, and I've written horseback there (when I was thinner!)
It's an amazing place.
