Enforcer's Price by Sarah Hawthorne

Sarah Hawthorne
My debut is almost here! February 6th is the big day and I’m on pins and needles. It’s hard to believe that it’s happening so fast. Last summer I sat in my favorite chair at the library and decided to write a contemporary romance novel.  I just needed an idea. Fresh off binge watching the television show, Sons of Anarchy, I wrote a motorcycle club based contemporary romance and entered it into a little contest run by RWA called Golden Heart.

When you final in Golden Heart, it’s like the publishing world sits up and takes notice. Submissions that once had gone unanswered were suddenly returned in mere hours. People actually read my work and gave me helpful feedback (instead of the black hole of nothingness I had experienced previously).

I signed with Jessica Alvarez at Bookends who has been amazing. I also entered a Twitter pitch contest and caught the eye of Carina Press, the digital only imprint for Harlequin.  I went from writing chapter one to signing with Carina in less than 10 months. It’s been a wild ride for sure.

One thing I learned in talking to readers and other writers is that not a lot of people have ventured into the world of motorcycle club romance. We often hear about bikers who are criminals and hardly hero-worthy. In the world of motorcycle club romance however, they are larger than life, loyal, and ultra-sexy. I write about the lives of regular people – who happen to be in a motorcycle club. The heroine is a prostitute – think Pretty Woman as a single mom - and a hero who is trying to rebuild his life after a betrayal from his ex.  It’s a great tale where the heroine saves herself and the hero figures out what he wants in life.

So, if you’re looking for a good book on February 6th, give Enforcer’s Price a look. It is the first in a trilogy from Carina Press. The second book, Rebel Custody, will be out in May, 2017.

Available for pre-order now on Amazon, B&N, itunes, and Kobo.

Enforcer’s Price
A man looking for redemption
Colt spent eight months in prison for trusting the wrong woman, nearly bringing down his entire motorcycle club in the process. Now he needs to fix the MC's cash flow problems or watch the only family he's ever known fall apart.
Meeting Krista wasn't part of his mission. Falling for her could mean his destruction.
A single mom trying to get by
Krista was ready to leave hooking behind when her ex cleaned out her bank account. Stuck working to provide for her daughter, she protects herself with one rule: never get involved with someone at the club.
Not that she wants to. Sex has become a job, a means to an end.
One night together as an escape
Krista's body wakes at Colt's touch, allowing her to imagine a life after the MC. A future. A happily-ever-after, if only briefly. Krista brings out feelings in Colt he forgot could exist. But just as he begins to trust again, Krista's truth is revealed—testing the very boundaries of Colt's jealousy and faith.

Sarah, so glad you could join us here at RTG. Your journey to being a published author shows that it can be done! Loved the excerpt you read at the Naughty Nights at Niche event in August. Looking forward to reading my first motorcycle club romance!
