So it's September .... hummmm

The proper wine drinking holder is oh so important

I'm ready for fall....

       and
nail polish - Naughty :-0

Coffee mugs featuring pictures of Michigan Fall that I took (if you are interested comment and I'll send you one)

Pumpkin spice cake featuring Captain Morgan's Pumpkin Rum ...

Yet today it was ((90)) degrees!!!! So I invited Mother Nature over for a slice of cake and some wine to discuss this. So
far she hasn't showed up. She better soon or the cake and wine will be gone ;-O

While it's not feeling 'fallish', my calendar says it September sooooo I'm going to roll out my fall traditions. I've made three batches of apple butter - one with caramel vodka that was beyond amazing  - and I changed the door wreath. Yet the weather is anything but fallish. But for some reason I feel compelled to do this. It gives me a peace of sorts. All summer I looked forward to pumpkin rum cake.... pumpkin spice martinis...and I'm not going to give those up just because it's warm. I simply enjoy them in shorts and a tee-shirt.

This fall is a prefect example of life. All things may not line up but you still have to find a way to enjoy what is dear to you.

Do you have fall traditions that you feel driven to do regardless of weather or life?

Fall is my favorite season by far! Cool weather, bugs finally leave, and the sun sets before 9 p.m.!

Pretty mugs, btw! Love the contrasting autumn colors!

We went from 90 degree weather to 60s in the blink of an eye and it feels more like winter than fall. I'm getting ready to put out all my fall decorations. I'll try to send some of our cool weather your way!

I lived in Mio, Michigan for five years. Those were the most beautiful falls I've ever seen! I'd walk through the woods and every leaf on the forest floor was a different color. It was something I had never experienced growing up in warmer climates. We are 20 degrees below average here in Central Oregon. So chilly this morning the temp hovering around 34. I always buy pumpkins towards the end of September to decorate the porch and my husband hangs the fall wreath on the front door. Happy fall everyone!

Lyncee, Thanks for again sharing pictures of your beautiful part of the world! This week our weather has Finally changed. Cool, wet - I'm in love with the rain after such a Hot Dry summer. Portland, OR was, on some days, hotter than Phoenix, AZ!!!

I'm not yet ready to delve into fall. I have a harvesty-themed plaque to hang on my front door but right now I like what I have up. Not sure I'll get the Halloween decorations out since I've no kids here anymore (and that is not a bad thing)!

Almost ready to put my cool weather blanket on the bed and maybe wear my socks (feet get cold but the past couple of nights I've just enjoyed it). Spiced apple cider with a bit of rum will be on the late October menu.

Hope your weather shifts soon!
