Norway is the new Scotland! Kris Tualla ;)

Hello, Everyone!

I'm Kris Tualla and I write historical romances with Norwegian heroes ~ it's time for a hero who doesn't wear a kilt!

Now before you lynch me, let me assure you that I DO appreciate a man in a plaid as well as any other lass. And, I am a member of my clan, Bell of the Borders. But when I started writing in 2006, I didn't want to try to tell a new story in a market that was already crammed full.

So who else is sexy? Vikings! But they were dirty and violent. Fast forward to the 1800's and create a hero descended from them. That's the ticket!

I am a retired high school teacher and the mother of 4 adult children, and 2 wonderful sons-in-law so far. My earliest influence was Kathleen Woodiwiss - in the 1970's & 1980's I reread her first 6 books innumerable times! Then in the 2000's in discovered Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. Bliss!

I was fortunate enough to count Diana as a mentor - and she gave me a lovely cover quote for my first book "A Woman of Choice"! That was the beginning of the Hansen dynasty: 3 novels released, 2 more coming in September, and 3 more in 2012. Check them out at http://www.KrisTualla.com !

Talk to you soon!
Kris

Love 'Norway is the new Scotland'. I'm not Norse but I am Danish and always loved stories and pictures of Scandinavia.

I'm sure they are. You've certainly shown that with your Arizona Dreaming event hunk. Love seeing his pictures.

I love the kilt wearers also, but a good looking man can look good in anything he wears or not!!! Historical Romances are probably my favorite genre, that is what I first started reading!!

One of the things I love most about writing is the freedom to create heros and heroines in the image I want. Congratulations for making those Vikings handsome, sexy and heros.

Nice, Kris! I would have loved to have a mentor like Diana Gabaldon. And Viking heros? Yum!

I studied abroad in Scotland for a year in college, and the one man who still stands out in my memory...
picture a tall, muscled up version of James Dean. Odne was Norwegian! Great to have finally found you, Kris. I look forward to getting better acquainted with your heroes...
