May is one of my favorite times of
year. Like spring itself it has been a month for rebirth and
renewal.
I can't believe I've been blogging with
this wonderful group for one year. It is indeed cause for
celebration.
Being a writer and just a tad curious (OK, maybe more than a tad) I looked up other celebrations for the month of May.
This month you can celebrate Asparagus, Asthma and Allergy Awareness, Better Hearing and Speech, National Bar-B-Que, Egg, Duckling, Hamburger, Mental Health, Salad, Photo, Physical Fitness and Sports, Strawberry, Older Americans and Transportation. Whew! That's just the monthly celebrations, we won't begin to get into the weeks or the days designated to celebrate things.
On a personal note I met my husband in May. Our first date was May eighteenth, twenty nine years ago. It was a blind date and little did I know what I was in for!<G> We also moved to Arizona in May, arriving here on Memorial Day nine years ago. Six months later I sold my first book. A few years later my husband started writing and now we are both published.
This blog will post on May 14th so I checked the calendar to see what is celebrated that day. According to the calendar, in 1804 Lewis and Clarke started their famous expedition. It is also National Dance like a Chicken Day.
Unable to top that, I'll simply say,
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to my fellow Genre-ista's. I've enjoyed this past
year and can't wait to see what the next one will bring.

Hi Elaine,
May seems to be a special month for several Genre-istas...you and Paty Jager in particular. My son was born in May, which sets it apart from the other months of the year.
Thanks for the list of other things to Celebrate! in May. I agree, it is hard to top National Dance Like A Chicken Day! LOL
Who knew so many celebrations in May? My mom and dad got married in May. My son was born in May, and he got married in May, My one granddaughter was born in May and my best friend in KS and my Son-in-law were born in May. My son now shares May 5th with the California celebration of Cinco De Mayo. Great post!
What a fun post!
I'm typing this in May with all the windows open, the scents of flowers and sunshine in the air, the sounds of bird songs floating into the house - this is one of my favorite months!
I love May although I personally thought it was national sneezing month. But despite my hay fever, I keep my house wide open to enjoy the smells and the sounds.
Speaking of sound, I wonder if I can celebrate National Chicken Dance Day to a Katy Perry song?
Elaine, Wow, so many things to celebrate this month! I can eat more asparagus and do the Chicken Dance! Fun post!
sorry I'm so late in responding. I'm glad everyone enjoyed the post. :)
Cindy I know have a picture in my mind of Katy Perry doing the chicken dance while singing California girls.
