Happy
THIRD Blog-O-Versary Month to Romancingthegenres.blogspot.com! And thank you so
much for inviting me back.
Wow,
are you sure it has been three years already?
The
last time I posted here, I talked about how I had been writing for twenty
years, signed with two agents, finaled six times in Romance Writers of
America’s Golden Heart competition and still hadn’t made a sale. And then in
2011, I decided to self-publish the first book I had ever written—Return
of the Rose—and my life changed in an instant!
Since
that time, I have been on a super exciting indie author roller coaster. I signed
with Thomas & Mercer in 2012 and then again, for three more books, in 2013.
I am now considered a hybrid author and I have sold over one million books!
Book
#4 in my bestselling Lizzy Gardner series, OBSESSED by TR Ragan, is available for pre-order now and will be
officially released on July 22, 2014.
Let’s
see, what have I been up to for the past three years? I was lucky enough to be
wined and dined by Amazon. The Huffington Post, USA Today, and the Wall Street
Journal interviewed me. I joined forces with The Indie Voice, ten USA Today and
NY Times bestselling authors. We work together to promote and market one
another. One tweet quickly becomes ten tweets. I’ve also been doing a lot of speaking
engagements and book signings, and it’s all a blur.
A
big lesson I learned after doing a lot of traveling in 2013 for speaking
engagements, etc., was that I didn’t have time to do what I love to do…WRITE. Although
I will be attending the Romantic Times Convention and the Book Expo of America during
the month of May, that’s it for traveling for 2014. For the next few years, I
plan to concentrate on doing what I love best—writing!
To
celebrate Romancing the Genres third anniversary, I would like to give away the first three books in my
bestselling Lizzy Gardner series (Abducted, Dead Weight, & A
Dark Mind). All you have to do is leave
your email address along with your comment for a chance to win!

Welcome back, Theresa! My goodness you've been Very Busy since you were last here. I know other authors who also made the decision to cut way back on conferences, book signings, etc. to focus on writing. Not that they don't enjoy other activities but they Love to write and they want more books out there for readers to buy. Your sales figures (sold over 1,000,000 books!) are inspiring.
Authors working together to promote each other is a win-win relationship that I see more and more of in the romance-author-world. Do you see more cooperation and collaboration among romance authors than between people in other areas of your life?
Your covers look great all colour co-ordinated!
Hi, Theresa,
Waving from Bend, OR. You have such a success story! I'm so happy for you. We met way back when at the Sacramento Valley Rose meeting. Wishing you all the best in 2014.

Hi, Theresa,
Sounds like you've really taken control of your author destiny with both publication and a commitment to adjust your time to allow for more writing! Congrats on how far you've come. And, happy to throw my email address in to the hat for the give away.

Charmaine, thanks for the kind words about the covers!
Hi Judith, sorry I'm so late in responding to everyone! RT in New Orleans and the BEA in New York was AMAZING! But I'm done and I'm writing again. Yay! To answer your question, Judy, YES, writers are so darn helpful and willing to help one another out. It's touching and thrilling.
Diana, of course I remember you! ha! Miss you and thank you for the congrats. I'm going to send you and Robin some books! Take care and I'm sure I'll see you around the blogosphere.
Hi Robin, Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. You are awesome! I am sending you some books right now. Thanks, everyone!
