You know, every month I have the
hardest time trying to come up with a blog post for my day of the month….not that day of the month…my RTG day of the
month. I even considered reposting an
old post, but didn’t find one interesting enough. So, be forewarned, this post
could be mostly babble. Anyway, as
usual, I’m doing a last minute post and getting it posted at zero hour. In my
defense, it’s been a busy month…okay, when isn’t it a busy month? But, this
month it’s been all about the grandbaby….when
she would finally get here. She was due
December 5th, but she decided to make us wait two weeks. Yep, as of yesterday,
December 16 at 9:22 PM, my first grandchild, Allison Rose, was born!!!
Momma, daddy and baby are all doing well….considering
it was a 36 hour labor and the hospital cafeteria food was about what you’d
expect hospital cafeteria food to taste like.
Having a baby in the house is going to make Christmas that much more
fun. My kids are all adults now so the excitement and wonder in their faces
during the holidays is pretty much gone. It’ll be fun to watch my son and
daughter-in-law with their daughter, making new traditions or incorporating the
ones we do. I can tell you, this is going to be one very loved and very spoiled
child. Her aunts and uncle are already looking forward to teaching her all the things they
love, like: the love of art, music, reading, baking. My son wants to teach her
sports: baseball, football, golf. She’s going to be a well-rounded child.
Anyway, another reason the month/s
have been crazy busy here is because we are getting ready to move back home to
Texas. I’m really looking forward to
getting back, being closer to my family, especially since everyone is getting
older. Not to mention, being home will be helpful with my books since my
stories all take place in Texas.
Speaking of my
books, they’ll make a great gift for your favorite reader. ;)

Being a grandma (or in my case a fairly new great grandmama) does add something special to this time of year. Just think about next year when Alison is a year old and really able to be enthralled by all the lights, sounds, and smells of the season!
