It's My Party! by Paty Jager

I'm going to stray from the suggested post topic for this month. It's June, my birthday month, and I have two new releases, so bear with me as I talk about those.

The first release is a box set of contemporary western romance novellas. I was excited to be asked to join this elite group of 5 western authors. I had a story idea that was sitting in my contemporary western romance folder on my computer. And it was one I could see working in a novella. The interesting thing about this story is the fact I picked a different flaw for the heroine than you usually see in a romance and now, as I started to write the novella, I had more insight into her flaw because I have a granddaughter with the same affliction.  Dyslexia.

In Catch the Rain, heroine, Kitty Baxter was shuffled from foster home to foster home with no one realizing she couldn't read. She learned how to cope and hide her defect. While she had dreams, she knew she'd never be able to work as anything but a stable hand. Along comes a  new veterinarian to town. Dr. Zachary MacDonald sees more in the stable hand than she sees in herself. Add in a stalker and the conflict grows.

Catch the Rain

Running from her past, Kitty Baxter catches a glimpse of her future—if she’s brave enough to believe in herself and the kind-hearted stranger who claims she deserves love.

Focused on setting up his new veterinarian practice, Zach MacDonald becomes sidetracked by a karaoke singing beauty with a secret. He sees what others don’t, and becomes determined to make Kitty see that anyone can learn to catch the rain.

You can find this and 5 other novellas in Cowboy Six Pack for $0.99 or FREE on KU.

Every woman loves a six-pack! Six sexy cowboy stories sure to make you swoon as they ride, rope and two-step into your heart!

To Steal a Cowboy’s Heart by Kari Lynn Dell

Cowboy Courtship by Allison Merritt

Changing a Cowboy’s Tune by Stephanie Berget
Broken Vows by Melissa Keir
Cowboy Wrecked by D’Ann Lindun

My other release is:
Fatal Fall

Book eight of the Shandra Higheagle Native American Mystery Series

Avarice…Family…Murder
When the doctor is a no-show for her appointment, Shandra Higheagle becomes wrapped up in another murder. The death of the doctor’s elderly aunt has everyone questioning what happened and who’s to blame. Shandra’s dreams soon tell her she’s on the right path, but also suggests her best friend could be in grave danger.

Detective Ryan Greer knows not even an illness will keep Shandra from sneaking around, and he appreciates that. Her insight is invaluable. When she becomes embroiled deeper in the investigation, he stakes out the crime scene and waits for the murder to make a tell-all mistake.

But will he be able to act fast enough to keep Shandra or her friend from being the next victim?

This is a busy month for me- the two releases, I'm attending the Wild Deadwood Reads event in Deadwood, SD, I'll have grandchildren staying with me, and I'm hosting a reunion. If I have a post up in July, you'll know I survived!

Paty Jager is an award-winning author of 30+ novels, a dozen novellas, and a passel of short stories of murder mystery, western romance, and action adventure. All her work has Western or Native American elements in them along with hints of humor and engaging characters. Congrats, Paty! Two releases the same month is exciting and a lot of work.I just know the reviews will be stellar. I'm particularly interested in the Cowboy novella as I know a number of people with Dyslexia. It's always nice to see someone realize that their disability doesn't have to stop them from using their talents in life.

My church choir director has dyslexia. I love how he directs us, and he sings very well. However, he doesn't like to get up to speak if he has to read. But it definitely hasn't stopped him from using his wonderful talents as a choir director.
