Antarctica and Romance the Lara Lacombe way!

Lara Lacombe
When most people think of islands, they imagine white sand, blue ocean water, and fruity frozen drinks with those little paper umbrellas.  It's a great visual, don't get me wrong, but when I wrote a book set on an island, I went in a slightly different direction...

Dr. Do or Die is the second book in my Doctors in Danger series (but don't worry, you can read the books in any order!).  As you can probably tell from the cover, the action takes place in Antarctica--not your normal, everyday location!

I had a fabulous time doing the research for this book; Antarctica seems like such a remote place, but I learned that there are several well-equipped research stations on the continent, and they make every effort to include all sorts of creature comforts so the staff working there doesn't feel too isolated.  There's a movie theater, a bar, and even a greenhouse, so they can have fresh produce year-round!

Antarctica may not be at the top of your vacation destination list, but I do hope you'll give this story a chance.  What better way to cool down on a hot summer's day?

Here’s the back cover description, with a little more information!

Two doctors are on thin ice as they race to save the world from a deadly disease.
Epidemic researcher Dr. Avery Thatcher has studied countless illnesses…but nothing prepares her for what she finds at a remote Antarctic base: the man she never wanted to see again and a mysterious ailment ravaging inhabitants. Avery will do whatever it takes to discover the illness's cause, and she vows to keep her heartbreaking history with Dr. Grant Jones in the past—even if reignited passion brings them dangerously close.
For Grant, ending this outbreak and regaining Avery's trust are vital. As their hunt to contain a lethal pathogen escalates, he'll put everything on the line to avert disaster. But will another insidious threat stop them both cold?

If this sounds like your kind of book, you can buy it here! (Helpful hint: Scroll down the page—on the lower right side, you’ll find a box titled ‘Where to Buy Harlequin Books,’ with links to your preferred format from your favorite retailer.)

So tell me, what’s your favorite type of vacation?  Hot sun and sand, city exploration, or getting lost in nature?

I’d love to connect with you!  Here’s where you can find me around the web!

Lara, Thanks for guesting with us today. I love the setting of Dr. Do-or-Die. I recently watched a PBS program on the challenges penguins are facing on Antarctica due to the glaciers melting and their normal nesting areas being flooded. Melding (or maybe I should say "melting") Antarctica and Romance is a winner!

What a unique setting! Love it! This sounds like a fresh new Romantic Suspense series. I'm a 'get lost in nature' vacation person.
