We have an abundance of special days this month - plenty of excuses for a celebratory cake!
November 1st is Authors Day, but I celebrate me every day in my house.
I tend to give Deviled Eggs Day a miss on November 2nd, surprising since we’re drowning in eggs.
But give me an egg salad sandwich on Sandwich Day, November 3rd, and I’ll be happy.
It’s all about the stout on November 4, Stout Day. I’m a big fan of dark beer.
November 5th isn’t a big deal around here, but in the UK Guy Fawkes Day is quite a party.
If you listened to pop music in the late 1970s – early 1980s, you would have heard a LOT of saxophone solos. Break out Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty and honour the horn on Saxophone Day, November 6th.
Zero Tasking Day should be celebrated every week, not just on November 7th.
Anyone know a good tongue twister? Impress your friends and family on Tongue Twister Day, November 8th.
Chaos Never Dies Day also demands more than one day out of the year. This year on November 9th, I’ll honour the cupboard under the kitchen sink – the definition of chaos.
All hail the magnificent Vanilla Cupcake. Fill those muffin tins on November 10th, and don’t forget the sprinkles.
Origami is a fabulous craft that requires nothing more than a sheet of paper and a set of instructions. See what you can create on November 11th, Origami Day.
November 12th is Happy Hour Day. An entire day devoted to happy hour? I’m not sure this one makes sense. But it’s cocktail hour somewhere, so...cheers!
For all the single ladies out there, November 13th is Sadie Hawkins Day, the one day of the year when you’re encouraged to take the bull by the horns, as it were, and propose marriage to the fella in your life.
Give me sweet pickles and gherkins on November 14th, Pickle Day, but keep the dill to yourself.
Clean Out Your Fridge Day is definitely a day that should come more often than once a year. Perhaps not only on November 15th, but the 15th of every month.
You’ve just emptied your fridge, what choice do you have but to celebrate Fast Food Day on November 16th.
November 17th is Take a Hike Day. I’ll assume it’s to celebrate the great outdoors and not to give instruction to an annoying person.
Let’s all band together to honour Use Less Stuff Day on November 18th. Now, more than ever, we need to care for our planet.
Do you ever have one of those days that starts badly and gets worse? Yeah, me too. Join me in celebrating Have a Bad Day Day on November 19th.
National Absurdity Day on November 20th is a great day to curl up on the chesterfield and binge on Monty Python, the height of absurdity.
Let’s shout out a great big ‘hello!’ to all we meet on World Hello Day, November 21st.
On November 22nd, mount your bike or your horse, or climb into your vehicle, and celebrate Go For a Ride Day.
November 23rd honours something that requires more of an explanation than I can give. Read up on this mathematical tidbit and celebrate Fibonacci Day.
Sing out loud, dust off your hoola hoop, dance in the street – Celebrate Your Unique Talent Day on November 24th is the day to show off.
As if we needed a reminder, November 25th is Shopping Reminder Day.
And then take part in Buy Nothing Day on November 26th – ha! It’s also Cake Day but we’re eating many cakes this month, right?
Red Planet Day is on November 28th, a great day to learn more about the planet Mars.
On November 29th, call to mind that wonderful day back in 1977 when the chia pet first made its appearance, and dedicate Chia Pet Day to the mighty chia seed.
How better to end the month than to acknowledge the need for regular back-ups on Computer Security Day, November 30th.
May your month be filled with an abundance of joy and laughter!

Fun post, Luanna. I will swap out the Have a Bad Day Day on 11/19 for a Happy Birthday Day. My friend Jean's is 11/17 but she loves to hike so I'm thinking she'll keep this one or maybe rename to Take a Birthday Hike?
Love your excerpt!
What a fun post - but I will celebrate deviled eggs day - love them! And egg salad sandwiches too.
Your lighthearted post made me laugh more than once, Luanna. And your book sounds really good. Thank you!
Wow, you have a great calendar to have all those unique holidays. Most of the food ones would be the bane of my diet plan because most everything you mentioned is wonderful in my mind. :) I do have very fond memories of Sadie Hawkins day because the High School I went to always had a Sadie Hawkins dance. I called it the anti-prom. Girls asked the boys, I usually wore jean shorts and a plaid top. And official pics were taken in front of a hay bale. Just the kind of casual dance I loved--and affordable!
Now, I'm going to check out all those other interesting days and make plans. National Absurdity Day sounds great. Love Monty Python. And Chia Pet Day is also something to bring back memories. I haven't grown any chia for so many decades I can't remember how long ago it was.
Thanks for all the laughs and smiles with this wonderful post!
