Hi, I'm Pippa Jay, author of scifi and supernatural stories to engage your emotions.
I hate refering to something as a bucket list, so I just have a travel wishlist. Top of the list was Iceland. The plan was to go at Christmas for my 50th birthday, but COVID got in the way. Instead we took a road trip up to Edinburgh and back, stopping at different castles on the way there and back, and taking youngest with us so he could finally say he's been to another country.
But this year, my husband lost a younger work colleague, and that was it. He booked our delayed Icelandic trip for next year. His rashness wasn't great for my OCD - I needed to research and look things up, at least triple check the location, travel, currency etc. But it was a done deal, and although I'm on edge about having not had any input or control over sorting out trip, I can't deny I'm excited to go. It might not be the perfect time of year for the Northern Lights, but if we like it that's an excuse to go again.
In the meantime, this is my current view.
We're in Evesham, Worcestershire, hopefully enjoying Fantasy Forest tomorrow (although the predicted super heatwave might make it a bit less fun). I will hopefully add some photos to this post after the event to show off our very eclectic cosplays!
