A number of years ago, I wrote a romantic suspense series, The Association, and I introduced Matilda and Hudson. They’re the couple in Key to my Heart, the first book in my new romantic suspense series that launches on April 23rd.  The Key Series is all about four sisters who are given a special birthday gift, a key, and a riddle from Margie, their deceased, eccentric grandmother.  The only stipulation is each girl must solve the riddle and find out what the key opens before her next sister's birthday, or all will be lost.

Matilda runs the Hennypenny Bed and Breakfast in Beacon Pointe.  She was engaged once, but his death has left a lot of unanswered questions.  Faith, Hope, and Charity, her adopted little girls, are her greatest treasure and have fulfilled her dream to become a mother.   Matilda also makes custom jewelry and sells her creations in the Railroad Shops, the quaint shops made from the train cars on her property. She’s very comfortable with her life, but that all changes when she gets a birthday gift from her grandmother.  She soon realizes this birthday will be like no other.

Hudson Rhoades has been living at Hennypenny’s Bed and Breakfast for over a year while he installs an alarm system in a soon-to-open museum in Beacon Pointe.  Everyone considers him the kind of guy you want to call your best friend.

But he’s been living a lie. Fear for Matilda and her daughters has been all-consuming, and he can’t tell her why.  As she starts her birthday quest, he’s forced to reveal the dark secret he’s been hiding.

Are you wondering, will her birthday wish come true?  You have to read the book.  It’s up for pre-order.
