If I Could Be Anywhere by Joan Ramirez

If I could be anywhere in the world, it would be Retiro Park in Madrid. What a backdrop for creating a novel:

Beautiful statues, a lake with boats for a short sail, an art gallery, and even a crystal palace from days long gone.

This feast for the eyes is nestled in the middle of the city and surrounded by elegant hotels such as The Ritz and the Palace, inviting sidewalk cafes and restaurants, and at night, it is a visual wonderland.

I'm sure it's splendid all year round, but summer gives a special glow.

I'd be on the lake in a boat drinking in the statues as I work on Book 2 of my Historical Suspense series.

Love your vivid description, Joan!!! I loved Barcelona when we visited many years ago. I'd love to see Madrid. Does your current work take place in Madrid? What time period?
