Definitely snow.
At least while it’s 80 degrees
outside. At midnight.
Once I’m enduring the frigid
temperatures, I’ll likely change my mind.
Nah. I probably won’t. Not just because I love sitting in front of a
roaring fire or because I think sleeping under a down comforter is sheer
heaven. And although I love skiing, wearing boots, and getting out of work
because we’ve had a bit of ice, that’s not the primary reason I pick winter.
The reason for my preference is simple: I absolutely, positively hate having
sand between my toes. Or on top of them. Or… Well, you get the picture.
Is it DNA? Can I simply not help it (aka—not my fault)? This question puzzled me so much I decided to Google.
And I think I stumped the search engine, because no matter how I posed the question, I got bizarre results. Here’s some:
·
Six Ways Your Mattress Could be Affecting Your
Health. Duh, it’s not the mattress,
it’s the wrinkle. Try again Google.
·
What Causes Small Holes in Skin. Say
what? The article said you’re supposed
to vacuum and mop regularly, although I don’t get the connection. I’ll get back to this after I figure out my
wrinkle.
·
Avocado Green Mattresses Made of 100% Organic
Material. Eh, I know this was an ad,
but… The way I toss and turn, that mattress would be guacamole in no time.
·
How to Get Rid of Dust Mites. And to
think I was worried about a darn wrinkle.
That last article put my sand
aversion into perspective. I’m now cured.
At least until I go to bed.
Hope everyone had a great Fourth! Wishing you a wonderful summer with or sans-sand,
however you like it.

Robin ,
Interestin post!
I had to laugh at the guacomole comment. I hope you figure out the wrinkle problem.
I don't have any problem going to sleep . I read a chapter in my book to distract from the ringing in my ears, turn off the light, and boom I', m asleep!
Great article. I love winter. Not because of peas or wrinkles. I just hate the heat. Also, I've found that the more clothes I put on the better my neighbors like it. Thanks
Fun read. I’m definitely with you….winter!!! The guacamole and dust mites parts had me laughing!
Too Funny! Wish I'd thought about the clothes and I would have added it to the blog. :)
I prefer winter as well! Really enjoyed the read :)
When you turn your mattress into guacamole call me, I'll bring the chips!
Love your take on sand. We have to be sisters by different mothers. I too have a thing about wrinkles and sand.
Yes, sand and wrinkles are an annoyance, and I do hate the heat and humidity. But these days humidity is now encroaching on winter and makes it feel all the colder. So, I guess my answer is, I hate the snow when I have to shovel, and I hate the beach when it is too hot. But walking a beach in cold weather is fun. Please don't ask me to choose.
Robin, Great post! You had me laughing as always.
Robin, I have the "sheet wrinkly gene" also. Recently attended a conference and the hotel didn't have fitted bottom sheets! I also do not like the top sheets/bedding tucked in. My toes like to be free. So, many sleep deprived nights because I did untuck the top sheets and that caused the bottom sheet to turn into an accordion. No matter how hard I tried to remake the bottom sheet, it never lasted. Glad to be home where my sheets are well-behaved.
