Hey Everyone,
Know what is a truly loving gesture? Sharing your french fries. Without complaint.
Give me a man who won’t push my hand away from his food. A
guy who won’t roll his eyes when I add more salt to the spuds, even though it’s
his plate. Real men share food, right?
(After I finish the fries, of course).
After all, the humble potato is romantic. And a man who
shares them…well, he’s a modern-day Mr. Darcy.
Wait—you don’t agree that potatoes are romantic? Well, I’m going to convince you potatoes can be—no scratch that, potatoes are romantic. Here’s why:
·
I never met a French fry I didn’t love
·
Potatoes are usually pollinated by bumblebees.
Everyone knows, pollination + bees = honey.
·
Many potatoes have romantic names—Desiree, Red
Bliss, Rose Gold, and Purple Viking.
·
Potatoes make great heart stamps.
·
Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head have been married since
1953—that’s 71 years of romance!
·
Picture this: A cold night, a flickering blaze
in the fireplace, a good movie, and you…snug
gled on the couch with a blanket
and a bowl of yummy potato soup. Loaded with cheese. If you aren’t loving this scenario already,
add Ryan Gosling beneath that blanket.
·
The world consumes billions (yes, billions) of
potato chips each year. That’s a lot of love.
Wishing you love and someone to share your fries—on Valentine’s
Day, and always.

I agree, a man who shares his food with you is a real keeper. Potatoes in any form are my favorite.
I enjoyed your blog post!
Fun post, Robin. I used to be much more free with sharing food. I think it comes from having kids and grandkids and great grands around. However, since Covid I'm much more careful. Having a special someone around I'm pretty sure there would be snitching aka sharing of fries and tater tots and even a spoonful of potato salad or au gratin or ???
