The World or Some of It in a Blog

Hi, I’m Judith Ashley, author of The Sacred Women’s Circle series, soul nourishing romantic women’s fiction with light paranormal elements. My stories show you what life could be like if you had a place like The Circle where you are unconditionally accepted, supported and loved. And where, with this support, you make choices to overcome the darkest nights of your life to choose love and light.

In Dr. Glasser’s Choice Theory, Blue is the color of the Real World, that which is but is altered by our senses and perception. This post is Real. I am at my computer typing it into Word so I can copy and paste into Blogger and click “publish”. I spent an hour or so yesterday looking back at blog posts I’ve written to put up today and then decided against that and here I am.

Words don’t always come easily when I want to write. Other days my fingers can hardly keep up with the stream flowing forth from my brain or wherever the creativity originates.

What is it I want to say?

I am amazed that in less than 90 days Sarah Raplee McDermed and I put together Romancing The Genres. We brainstormed and came up with romance sub-genres, we searched for authors within them, we invited authors we knew, authors we’d heard about, authors we found. In other words, we did the work.

Who answered the call and is still with us to the end?

Paty Jager

Diana McCollum

Barbara Binns

So the five of us or 25% of the original 20 will be sharing their thoughts and ideas about writing, blogging and in some cases, life.

When we launched in May 2011 we had Canadian and New Zealand authors. Over the years authors from Australia and the UK joined us.

Bronwen Evans – New Zealand

Margaret Tanner - Australia

Opal Carew - Canada

Erica Hayes - UK

Susan Horsnell - Australia

Lauren James - Australia

Michelle Sommers - Australia

Madelle Morgan – Canada

Cassandra O’Leary – Australia

Luanna Stewart - Canada

One of the highlights of my life has been meeting authors from around the world, keeping in touch with them when they moved in a different direction. You’ll meet some of them this month as they’ve been gracious enough to join us one more time.

You can find my books at your favorite e-book vendor as well as through my website www.JudithAshley.net and Windtree Press. Print books are available at Jan’s Paperbacks in Hillsboro, OR and Arte Soleil in Portland, OR. Their addresses are on my website. And be sure to ask your library if you’d prefer to read my books through that resource.

Thanks Diana, I have also. And the best part is being able to stay in touch with some of them. When we started RTG, I didn't believe people could become friends over the internet. RTG and meeting these authors changed my mind.

I agree that getting to know authors from around the world has been one of the great benefits of running Romancing the Genres, Judith! Thank you for the trip down memory lane.
