2024 - looking ahead at what's new in publishing for me, by Peggy Jaeger

It's kinda hard for me to believe that the end of 2023 is upon us.

And to that, I say, "THANK GOODNESS!"

2023 is not a year I will look back upon with undiluted pleasure, to quote the former Queen Elizabeth II. I am so looking forward to taking advantage of a new publishing year.

So, what's on the 2024 horizon for me?
6 new books ( all full length ( 50000+ words or more.) I intend to finish my HEAVEN'S MATCHMAKER series with the last 3 books, the first one with a 2.14.2024 release, the last, 8.31.2024.

I'm writing a non-fiction book about grief and dealing with aging parents.

I'm going to try and secure a literary agent.

I want a traditional publishing contract this year. I will still be indie, too. But I want the cache of trad publishing again, hence the agent search.

I will be devoting a lot more time to my health - physical and mental - this year. While that's not a publishing goal, being of sound mind and body will help secure my pub goals!

I will be devoting a great portion of my free time to my blog and social media posts. I lost some followers this year because I slacked during the period of my mother's death, and I want those readers back! I'm concentrating on my blog, and TikTok accounts, mostly.

One final thing that I won't be doing, alas, is writing blogs in the future for Romancing the Genres. I've come to a point in my career where I need to concentrate on direct engagement with my readers. I've loved writing here every month and I know I will miss doing so, so to all the Generistas - thank you for your support, kind words, and writing love.

Enjoy the holiday season, and let's ring in 2024 with a bang!
