Celebrating May's Calendar Men book with Cheryl Wright

First of all I’d like to say thanks to Judith and Sarah at Romancing the Genres for inviting me back. It’s always great to be here.
I’d also like to say congratulations on your 8th Blog-O-Versary. That’s a huge feat and one to be proud of.

I’ve been asked to talk about my latest book, which is Book Five – May – in the Calendar Men series.

This book was a little back-the-front for me. Normally I have a story in my head before anything else. This time I had no story idea at all, and it was fast approaching the time I needed to start work on it.

Not to mention my cover was required to get all the promotional images organized. That meant I had to get images sent to my cover artist so she could work her magic.

But I still had no idea what this book would be about.

I went searching on Deposit Images, where I buy most of my cover images, and as I scrolled through, I came across an image that caught my eye.

The moment I set eye on that cowboy, I knew exactly what torture I was about to put him through.

Braxton Chalmers is one of my favourite male characters to have written. He is fun, he is playful, and he is oh so sexy. But he’s also serious, he’s strong, and he’s protective, not to mention loving.

But most of all, Braxton regrets losing Sierra, his childhood sweetheart when she moved to the big city to pursue a career. When she returns to the outback town of Oakdale for her grandmother’s funeral, sparks fly between the two all over again. This time Braxton does everything in his power to win her over. This book, which was released March 16, has lots of yummy surprises for readers.

Who doesn’t love a second-chance love story? Or a cowboy?

I also introduced Melanie Chalmers in this book. She is Braxton’s cousin, and dreams up all sorts of schemes, often making his life a misery – in a sweet kind of way.

Next month will see the release of the Calendar Gals series, and I again have the month of May, and my story centres around, you guessed it, Melanie Chalmers. She finds the love of her life in the most unlikely of places.
That book is currently on pre-order and will be released in a few days.
The Calendar Men and Gals series cross several genres and heat levels, and there’s something for everyone.

Thanks for stopping by today. To show my appreciation, I’m offering one lucky person the opportunity to win one of my kindle books - of your choosing.

All you have to do to be in the running is comment below and tell me if you prefer to read contemporary or historical romance. That’s it!
Good luck everyone!

What happens when your heart is devoted to the one person you can never have?
After Sierra West suddenly left town, Braxton Chalmers tried to move on with his life. But thoughts of her always taunted him, to the point no other woman could ever live up to her standards.

Sierra West returned to the outback town of Oakdale after the death of her beloved grandmother. Seeing Braxton again has reignited past emotions. She can’t allow these feelings to surface again – she must return to the city once her business in Oakdale is done.

Can they just remain friends? Or will fate step in and show them they were meant to be together?

Spotlight on Author Lizbeth Selvig by Lynn Lovegreen

I first met Lizbeth Selvig when I joined the Alaska chapter of the Romance Writers of America. She made me feel right at home there, and we grew to be great friends while I learned tons about writing from her. Now she’s gone back to her native Minnesota, and is a multi-published author. I love her heartwarming, funny, sexy-sweet romances, and I’m sure you will, too. Her latest book is Betting on Paradise, part of her “Seven Brides for Seven Cowboys” series:

WELCOME TO PARADISE RANCH

The Good Girl wants to spread her wings …
From birth Grace Crockett has been part of an unbroken set: one-in a million identical triplets. Twenty-six years later, however, feeling unappreciated in her role as part owner of a successful Denver restaurant, Grace longs to break away and fulfill her own dreams. But to do so she must learn to trust in her own judgment.

The Gambler wants what’s owed to him …
Small-time poker player Ty Garraway is determined to break his family’s legacy of abuse and abandonment, and give his young daughter a hope for the future he’s never had. But that means taking on the Crocketts—one of the most powerful ranching families in Wyoming—and taking back a part of Paradise Ranch stolen from his family eighty years ago in a poker game he believes was rigged.

Can they bet it all … and defy the odds?

Grace’s relentless honesty and devotion to family—not to mention the way she turns him on—has Ty thinking too much with his heart. Ty’s passionate love for his daughter and his encouragement of Grace’s half-baked ideas—not to mention his knee-weakening kisses—has Grace wondering if she’s found her unlikely match in a rough-around-the-edges cowboy. But when Ty’s plans are exposed, can Grace forgive the liar who manipulated her and her family and forgive herself for being duped?

Love has raised the stakes, requiring Ty to bet everything he has to win Grace and his future, but will it be enough?

Cowboy, Remind Me – Summer Read

If you’re looking for a summer read that a teenager all the way up to a grandmother would love, you’ll find it in Danita Cahill’s Cowboy, Remind Me. This novel is a sweet contemporary western set in a Rodeo town in Montana.

The story has heart and humor along with a good helping of believing in yourself.  This story is for everyone who has ever come through a tragedy and wondered if their life could go back to normal and for everyone who has had to learn to stand up for themselves. The witty dialogue, real secondary characters, charismatic hero, and realistic heroine make for an uplifting read.

Blurb for Cowboy, Remind Me

FAIRY TALE WEDDING...

Leah Poole never wanted a fairy-tale wedding, so when she finds herself smack dab in the midst of planning her own big, over-the-top wedding she starts to shut down. Nothing feels right. She can’t even find a wedding dress she likes.

HE LOVES ME...HE LOVES ME NOT...

Leah loves her fiancĂ©, Colton Rafferty. She’s been fond of him since they played together as children. Leah can’t believe he’s chosen her to spend his life with – Colton is a handsome, successful, wealthy businessman, while Leah’s a full-figured, low-income, hometown cowgirl. But as Colton and Leah’s wedding date draws nearer, it feels less and less like they’re a match made in heaven, and more and more like they’re a jigsaw puzzle with missing pieces.

THE COWBOY BROTHER…

Colton’s brother, Clay, is a rodeo cowboy, an Oregon ranch hand, and a temporary maintenance man at Pine Creek, Montana’s grand old Milton Motel – the venue where Leah and Colton plan to exchange their vows. Bumping into Clay over and over surfaces a flood of buried memories, and Leah starts questioning herself. Is she marrying the right brother? And will she figure out the answer before she’s exchanged vows with the wrong man?
