Ahem. I've had a passion for writing since I was about 8 when I wrote I first short story. During my sophomore year in high school, I wrote my first full-length novel, a science fiction romance. (I should burn that, it was so bad!) I wrote my second novel, a fantasy romance, during my senior year, which, many years and at least a hundred revisions later, finally got published.
I currently have three full-length novels and two novella in publication, one fantasy, Queen in Exile and the rest Regency Romances--all on the sweeter side of the sensuality scale but far from sterile. I always strive for strong conflict, alpha males who fall hard, heroines strong enough to take them on, witty dialogue, vivid pictures of a new world, and sweeping romance that make readers laugh and sometimes cry. I'm all about the happy ending. I really looooove when readers tell me my books kept them up all night!
On the more personal side, I'm married to my very own prince charming, and we have six children (yes, that's 6) , three cats, and usually other creatures like fish, birds, or frogs as pets.
A night owl by nature, I write late at night, and of necessity, in the morning before work ... or pretty much whenever I can steal away a few minutes to write. It’s really some kind of sick addition. Getting published was just a good excuse to justify it ;-)
I’m working on final edits for book three of The Rogue Hearts Series, and I'm also in the middle of a new Young Adult post-apocalyptic novel which isn't my usual thing, but hey, I had a dream. Literally. But enough about me.
What kind of books do you find hard to put down?

Hi Robin,
I actually prefer a book that I can put down...because I read to relax so no Romantic Suspense for me! But I do love Regency so I'll have to check your books out.
My favorite romances are the Regency historicals. I have read Troubled Hearts and Queen in Exile of yours. They were both very good, loved them. I have not started your Rogue Hearts Series yet!!
I find any well-written romance with wonderful characters hard to put down. When I connect with characters, I just HAVE to find out what happens to them!
Your regencies are going on my To-Be-Read pile!
Ahh, a night owl. I'm sure you'll be ready to check out Night Owl Reviews when they post on Saturday, 05/07.
And, I love your book covers. The balance between seduction and just plain beautiful is well-done.
My daughter got me into YA dystopia. Now I'm writing adult dystopia! For me, it's all about the pacing.
Hi, Donna.
For me, an unputdownable book has at least one character I both love & am fascinated by, plus a plot that really keeps me guessing. But if life is keeping me on my toes, high suspense can be a little too intense ... and I will actually peek at the end. If the real world is running a little slower, I enjoy the page-by-page build.
Two novels in high school?? That spells amazing dedication. Did your family know about your writing career, or did you keep it a secret?
As I'm winding down and scrolling through the posts I realize I made a huge mistake...I'm so sorry Donna that my first post called you Robin. My error...was clear on who I was talking to the second time. Mea Culpa...
Hi Greta,
My husband knew it was a "hobby," but I don't think he had any idea what an obsession it was. He became amazingly supportive of my time-consuming oddity when I got my first contract offer and he's been super supportive ever since.
Judith, I read to relax, too, but for me, it's more about escapism. And no problem on the name thing. I do that kind of stuff, too.
Sara, thanks for stopping by. I'd love to hear back from you.
Tam, good luck on your YA!

Nice new site.
I thought from the title that perhaps it would address sections / parts of romance inside other genre books that make them intriguing.
I love your books.
Good luck.
Margaret
Hi Margaret,
Hope you'll follow us through May at least. If I understand your comment, I think we are the other way around. We are addressing the sections/parts of the genre within a Romance. As each of the Genre-istas introduces herself, you'll see not just what they write, but what draws them to that sub-genre of Romance.
