Happy Blog-o-Versary

When I joined Romancing the Genre I was looking forward to blogging once a month and each month we were given a different theme. I found myself enjoying not only writing my blog but reading the others take on the same theme.
What surprised me was how much I learned not just from participating in Romancing the Genre but from the other members as well as the guests. I learned about new authors and new books. I also explored the blogs of more writers and learned from not only what they blogged about but how they blogged.
My blog, IT'S BETTER THAN YOU THINK, (elainecharton.wordpress.com) had been up for a while. I had originally posted it on another server and had moved it to Word Press. With the move I wanted to improve the blog, using the things I had learned up to that point.
My husband blogs almost every day but that wasn't for me. I found a schedule I could work with, at least three days a week. Then I knew I wanted to write about things I was passionate about. After all that's what bought me into the Genre-ista's. Our shared passion for the Romance novel in all it's many sub genre's.
The RTG blog fulfilled my need to blog about writing. In my personal blog I could talk about my other passions. When I'm not writing, or talking about it. I am reading and cooking so that is what I decided to write about. The rest of the time I would blog about whatever I wanted. Funny thing, I started getting people stopping by and leaving comments. Something that had rarely happened before.
So happy six month Blog-o-Versary to Romancing the Genre and to my fellow genre-ista's. I can't wait to see what the future brings.

Hi, Elaine! I'm glad to hear that bogging at RTG has brought people to your personal blog.

I, too, have learned a lot from the other Genre-istas. I'm planning to resuscitate my personal blog Jan. 1st. I now have the confidence to do it well.

I love the name of your blog, It's Not as Bad as You Think! That can apply to reading, writing, AND cooking! And it's so true; we are soooo self-critical.

I enjoyed this post immensely!

Elaine, I can hardly wait to see what the next six months bring because the first 5+ have been fantabulous! Thanks for your part in making it all happen. And, I'm glad it's been a two-way street and that being a Genre-ista has added visitors to It's Better Than You Think.
