Our theme this month is all about passing along book recommendations. After all, everyone could use just one more book (or three) on their tbr list, right? And since I'm heading to the Chicago Spring Fling this week, I thought I'd recommend books written by the keynote speaker and main presenters.
Named for Maggie's great-grandfather, the land and charming general store at the crossroads of the Colorado and the Continental Divide Trails have been passed down through the generations and now belong to Maggie's eccentric father, Sully. When she shows up unannounced, he welcomes her with open arms, and she relishes the opportunity to indulge in his simple way of life.
But shortly after arriving, Maggie's world is rocked once again and she must take on more responsibility than she'd planned. Though she's relieved a quiet and serious-looking hiker, Cal Jones, is willing to lend a hand, Maggie is suspicious of this mysterious man's eagerness to help—until she finds out the true reason for his deliberate isolation.
Though Cal and Maggie each struggle with loss and loneliness, the time they spend together gives Maggie hope for something brighter just on the horizon…if only they can learn to find peace and healing—and perhaps love—with each other.
BEAUTIFUL BASTARD (the sexy meet-cute): Whip-smart, ambitious intern Chloe Mills is so tempting that her completely infuriating and utterly irresistible boss Bennett Ryan is willing to bend the office rules—or outright smash them—if it means he can have her. All over the office.
BEAUTIFUL BITCH (the engagement): When Chloe’s career starts to take off, Bennett wishes it would all slow down long enough so he can have one wild night alone with his girlfriend. They take their fiery love-hate relationship to the next level with two plane tickets, one French villa, and a surprising conversation that leaves them wrestling under the covers.
BEAUTIFUL BOMBSHELL (the bachelor party): When his bachelor party gets completely derailed, Bennett takes every chance to rendezvous secretly with the woman he loves behind his friends’ backs. The happy couple gets one last blazing prewedding hurrah—but if what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, they might not ever want to leave!
BEAUTIFUL BEGINNING (the wedding): Chloe and Bennett have come a long way since their blazing conference room romps. Wedding bells can’t chime soon enough, so they can finally say their vows—and break the no-sex-until-the-wedding-night rule that keeps backfiring. Join them for the wedding of the century!
Daisy’s father is dead, her mother is in ill health, and her available funds have dwindled to a memory. When the local parish announces a charity bequest to help young people start a trade, it’s her last chance. So what if the grants are intended for men? If she’s good enough, she might bluff her way into a future.
When Crash offers to show her how to swagger with confidence, she knows he is up to no good. But with her life in the balance, she’s desperate enough to risk the one thing she hasn’t yet lost: her heart.
Her Every Wish is a companion novella in the Worth Saga. It stands on its own, but those who wish to read in order might want to read the first book in the series, Once Upon a Marquess, before this one.
Warm wishes and happy reading,
