Sharing my Christmas Reading List by Dora Bramden

 

I have been counting down the days to November when I let myself start thinking about and planning for Christmas. I find that I feel the need to snuggle into the heart-warming feels of the season this year more than last year because of having to go without many of the things I once took for granted. 

I’ve already been in our garage dusting off my boxes of ornaments, seeing what I have and what I’d like to buy for decorating our home. I’ve also got started on a reading list of Christmas novellas which I’m about to dive into. I’ve made sure that all of them can be purchased on Amazon in Kindle format so you won’t be disappointed if you like the sound of them. Links are in the titles.

The first book on my list has been sitting on my bookshelf for many years. For some reason I never got around to reading it, so it’s at the top of my list this year. It was first published in December 2012 as a 2 in 1 Medical Romance from Mills and Boon. 

A Newborn Baby for Christmas by Fiona Lowe, is a best friends to lovers story with a pregnancy twist.  “Hamish can’t refuse when Georgie asks him for a Christmas present that she’s spent her whole life waiting for – a baby!”  Awww. I’m in.

Also in the set is ‘The war Hero’s Locked-Away Heart’ by Louisa George. “Adam’s determined never to get close to anyone ever again. But with Skye by this side maybe it’s time to put the past to rest for good.”  I love a wounded hero story.

I recently purchased a box set of stories called ‘A Very Country Christmas’. It has 5 Christmas stories and I absolutely love the titles, ‘The Kissing Season’ by Rachael Johns, ‘Christmas at Remarkable Bay’ by Victoria Purman, ’12 Daves of Christmas’ by Juliet Madison, ‘Under Christmas Stars’ by Alissa Callen and ‘Home for Christmas’ by Fiona Greene.  Each of these titles creates a different scene in my mind’s eye.

The last one on my list, I've pre-ordered. It will be released on November 9^th, ‘The Christmas Bride’ by Anne Gracie is a historical novella set in the regency period. The blurb begins with “A chance meeting on a dark highway, a wounded heroine, a hero-in-waiting and Christmas . . .”

I’m hooked, it sounds exciting.

That will be me for the next little while, when I’m not decking the halls or writing, I’ll be on the couch with a Christmas novella.
