I have found over the years that there isn't just one spot where I like to read or write. I've read on vacation, in the forest, in the bedroom, in a coffee shop and in my bedroom.
While these are great places to read, they are also great places to write. I'm kind of combining reading and writing in these pictures.
The Library is a wonderful place to write or read. All the research books are right there if needed. And a friendly librarian to help find that special book.
Another great place to write or read is in your favorite coffee shop. The handsome barista making that special cup of tea or coffee just for you.
Reading on a smart phone or tablet is a good way to have portable books without the bulkiness of paper or hard cover books.
Vacation time and poolside is a good place to read/write or in the forest etc.
Another good place to brainstorm your novel or read is sitting in a quiet room in your favorite chair.
Maybe you find a trip to the woods to commune with nature the most fulfilling.
Where ever you write or read be in the moment and enjoy!
Here's a cheer to all the writers who bring us the wonderful stories we enjoy. Thank you!
Do you have a special place you like to write or read besides at your desk?

I prefer to write at my desk when I'm home but away from home, I write wherever I can get comfortable.
As for reading, I can do that anywhere- in the chair, on my bead, in a vehicle, in a coffee shop, outside. As long as I have a book in my hand, I'll read. even standing in line at a store. ;)
Fun post!
Thanks for stopping by Paty!
I know writing for me has to be at a desk. Sometimes if I'm writing long hand and brainstorming I'll be in a chair with my feet up!
I am like Paty. I can read anyway and always have something to read with me, even if only a magazine. Writing I prefer to work at my desk or when I travel for the purpose of writing. Loved the post.
Diana, I've found over the years I can write in a coffee or donut shop (think Krispy Kreme), at a retreat by the ocean or in the forest (although I am at a desk or picnic table). I prefer to write on my desktop.
Reading? fiction requires a "real" book. And I have Lots! so I take what I'm reading with me if going to an appointment. Guarantees I won't have to wait long! I've never transitioned to a tablet although I've had 2 or 3. Non-fiction, if short like an article or blog post, I'll read on my computer.
Dari and Judith,
Thanks for stopping by and sharing! Have a good Sunday!
I can read or write just about anywhere. I’ve written on busses, on airplanes, in cafeterias, in loved ones’ hospital rooms. Can’t say those are my favorite places to write, but they’re okay. The places you’ve suggested here are much more appealing, Diana. Fun post!
