Autumn is one of my favorite seasons because of the colors. And the cooling of the weather. Here are a few photos I've taken over the years.
A view from higher up on the Steens as the trees turn color.
A view from the house we lived in in Central Oregon. I loved how the willow tree turned yellow in fall.
This is a view I saw in Salem two weeks ago. It reminded me of the colors I enjoy in Autumn.
I had more photos but the flash drive I had them on wouldn't open. I hope you enjoy the few photos I could scrounge up.
When I lived in Central Oregon, I would take the kids and large garbage bags and scoop up the fallen leaves on the sidewalks in Redmond and take them home to use for decorating my house because all we had were juniper trees. That's how much I love the Autumn colors!

Love the photos and I love decorating with nature's bounty also.
Lovely photos!
Autumn and Spring are my favorite seasons, Paty. I love the picture of the aspens on Steens Mountain! My husband and I took a trip out there a few years ago. Beautiful country.
Paty,
Beautiful pictures! I miss the earlier fall season of OR.
I too, decorate with colorful leaves.
Happy fall!!
Thanks, Judith! Using natural colors and plants makes it feel more special.
Thanks, Lynn!
Hi Sarah! Yes, the Steens are spectacular in the fall with the changing leaves on the trees and spring when the wildflowers are in bloom. I always try to get up there at least those two times of the year.
Thank you, Diana! Decorating for seasons is fun!
Love the photos - fun to see color on the opposite coast. I was so excited when I pulled into the grocery parking lot - chrysanthemums and sunflowers. I bought a sunflower plant (after the bee feasting on the pollen moved on.) Next shopping trip I will buy a chrysanthemum - always a dilemma on which color to choose - one of each? This also makes me miss my beautiful maple tree that had four trunks melded into one big one at the base. But alas, it was old and most of the center of that huge base was rotten. Had it fallen it would have hit my house. Luckily, I can see other maples form my kitchen window, as summer turns to fall color.
Hi Deb, I struggle all the time between thinking sunset colors are my favorite and Autumn colors are my favorite. I need a chrysanthemum to add to the fall display I've been building in my head. Thanks for the reminder!
